THIS IS NOT IN MY JOB DESCRIPTION!!!

Why is it that every time I go into my kitchen there is a cabinet door standing wide open? For some odd reason, my husband can't manage to close the cabinet doors.....or the dishwasher or the drawers. Really. Is it so hard to raise your arm and *flip* your wrist? I am pretty sure the door does the rest of the work. I believe it takes, oh, I'd say about half a second. I tend to be a pretty cool, up to date gal (OK, the fact that I just called myself a "gal" may say otherwise, huh?). Did I miss the memo? Will the dishes automatically fly into the proper place if I leave the dishwasher standing open? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, "That would be a negative!"

When I became a homemaker there were many things that I knew were in the job description. Sleepless nights, thousands of poopy diapers, endless laundry, chaotic mornings and hectic afternoons. I knew I would be cleaning piles of dirty dishes and catching puke in buckets (and, on a few lucky occasions, in my hands!!), patching up scraped knees and elbows, cleaning windows and sweeping floors. I was ok with this. I still am, at least most days, ok with this....because it was in my job description.

However, closing doors and drawers after a grown man....... THIS IS NOT IN MY JOB DESCRIPTION!! It was not and still is not.

*sigh* At least I know this guys gets it. I have a feeling this wasn't in his job description either....

I agree...

My hubby leaves his plates/cups/silverware in the sink and then dumps other stuff in there and it just GROSSES ME OUT, I about lose it everytime. Again - how hard is it to put the stuff in the dishwasher right by the sink?@?!???!!

I think that's a lot of men, my husband included. "Can't you ever put your clothes back in the drawer?" Nope. He just leaves them ON the dresser for me to put away.
That picture is great!

I leave drawers and cabinet doors open in my house. I don't know why and I don't even know I am doing it until hubby comes in and laughs pointing out all the opening. OOPS. He is very loving about it. I wish I were so loving when I harp on him for not putting away his dishes from his midnight snack or his 3 pairs of shoes piling up or the cups that pile up in the bathroom. Guess it all equals out in the end. I LOVE THAT PICTURE! Needs to have some sort of one of those motivational sayings on it like DEDICATION or PRIDE or something totally obnoxious like that. Tee Hee.

What I want to know is, why do I always find all sorts of garbage on the counter right next to the trash can? Really, it's not that much farther!

I was so totally thinking the same thing the other day when I walked into the kitchen and EVERY cabinet door was wide open. Why? Why all of them?

That picture is hilarious!
I have a list of things that I clean up after my Hubby. We have a double front door, walk through one, then the other- he leaves BOTH open!! WHY? At least shut one when you are emptying your car, there are little kids running around in here and it's cold outside!! C'mon!! I feel your pain! Oh, I finally got him to close the silverware drawer before making his toast in the morning, he was always dropping all the crumbs into the drawer!

I've caught puke with my hands too!!

Also a big ball of poop sliding down a pant leg during potty training.

We really should be paid more even if it IS in our job description!!

I suggest elctroshock therapy. It's the only way your husband will learn to change his cabinet behavior. ;-)

The picture is great! My Dad is one of those guys who paints those lines- I'll be sure to show him. I can sympathize with the door problem- and add a couple more: turning off lights and putting dirty clothes in the hamper- I've given up on those- it takes more energy to get upset than it does to just do it myself.

omg this is totally me.

I don't know why I do this, but I can't shut a cabinet door to save my life. Same with the dishwasher...I don't know why or what it is, but I am the same as your hubby.

Here is another one I do....leave the water running in the sink and walk away. Ya know, like run down stairs and start laundry, but forget that I was in the middle of doing dishes.

I seriously think that I am getting the mom form of ADHD. Right? Ya know, too much to do, no time to do it, better accomplish 5 things at once brain.

ha ha ha!!! My biggest hubby issue is the dirty dishes he leaves laying around for ME to pick up, using the excuse that "Well, you pick up the kids' dishes, why is it a big deal to pick up one more set?" GRRRR

LOVE the picture! that's hilarious!

Oh MY WORD. Can I tell you that we have the SAME ISSUE AND FRUSTRATION in our home?!?!?! ! ! Ahh. Sounds like it makes you just as mad as it does me. Ditto, exactly, not my job!
